Charged New Media is run by well-known editor and writer Axel Bührmann, who has been researching, analysing, writing about all matters digital, including Web 2.0 and social media, for many years — during the past nine years as managing editor of both the print and on-line versions of Charged Southern Africa magazine, and online using the likes of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Flickr.
Before this, he was South African editor of the renowned PC Magazine, Inter@active Week, as well as ZDNet Online, one of the earliest local on-line news services. Prior to that, he wrote for traditional media, including The Star and Financial Mail, and also had extensive experience in traditional IT public relations.
